What exactly is RCS? +
RCS (Rich Communication Services) is the standard replacing SMS on Android: messages with a verified sender, images, cards and buttons, inside the Messages app the phone ships with from the factory. For the user it feels as natural as an SMS, but with the experience of a modern app.
What about iPhones or Android phones without RCS? +
RCS coverage grows every month, but it isn't universal yet. To make sure the notification reaches everyone, you can combine the campaign with Certified SMS: each recipient gets the channel their handset supports, and every one of them generates an evidence report.
Is the read receipt reliable? +
Yes: it's the RCS protocol itself that reports the read status from the handset, not a pixel-based estimate like in email. That event is added to the report with its sealed date and time.
Does my brand need approval before I can send? +
Yes, the verified sender requires registering your brand first (name and logo). That is precisely what stops anyone from impersonating you. We handle the process with you; once approved, you send as usual.
